1. Fireproof
Since the cable is made entirely of inorganic materials (metal copper and magnesium oxide powder), it will not cause a fire, cannot burn or support combustion. Given that the melting point of copper is 1083°C and that of magnesium oxide is 2800°C, this type of cable can continue to supply power even in fire situations close to the melting point of copper, making it a truly fireproof cable. It can also pass the BS6387 C, W, Z tests.Test Items IEC331 GB/T19216 Grade BS6387 Combustion 750°C, 3h 750°C, 90min Grade A 650°C, 180min; Grade B 750°C, 180min; Grade C 950°C, 180min; Grade D 950°C, 20min Spraying None None W Grade 650°C, 15min Mechanical Impact None None X Grade 650°C, 15min; Y Grade 750°C, 15min; Z Grade 950°C, 15min
2. Large Current Carrying Capacity, Waterproof
Since the normal operating temperature of mineral insulated cables can reach 250°C, and IEC60702 specifies that the continuous working temperature of mineral insulated cables is 105°C, this takes into account the needs of terminal sealing materials and safety. Even so, its current carrying capacity far exceeds that of other cables because magnesium oxide powder has a better thermal conductivity than plastic. Therefore, for lines above 16mm², one cross-section can be reduced, and for areas where human contact is not allowed, two cross-sections can be reduced.
The seamless copper tube used for the copper sheath of mineral insulated cables, along with the sealing mud used for terminal connections, is a high-tech product that can be submerged in water for a long time. Thus, water molecules are completely blocked out, making it a truly waterproof product.
3. Explosion-proof, Corrosion-resistant
Explosion-proof characteristics: The seamless copper tube used for the copper sheath of mineral insulated cables, combined with the tightly compacted magnesium oxide powder, prevents combustible gases, oil vapors, and flames from reaching the electrical equipment connected to the cable, thus providing explosion-proof characteristics.
Corrosion resistance: Copper has good corrosion resistance, and under normal operating conditions, no additional protection is needed. In special environmental conditions, such as those with strong corrosive effects on copper, an additional layer of PVC outer sheath is added, giving the cable excellent corrosion resistance.
4. Resistant to Mechanical Damage, Long Lifespan, Halogen-free and Non-toxic
Resistance to mechanical damage: The metal sheath of the cable has a certain strength and toughness, and the magnesium oxide is highly compressed during the cable processing. Therefore, when the cable is subjected to bending, crushing, twisting, and other deformations, the relative positions between the core wires and between the core wires and the sheath remain unchanged, preventing short circuits and not affecting electrical performance.
Long lifespan: Since all materials used in the cable are inorganic, they do not age. Its lifespan can be calculated based on the rate of oxidation corrosion of the copper sheath. Data shows that a sheath oxidizes 0.25mm in 257 years at an ambient temperature of 250°C, while the thickness of the sheath of mineral insulated cables generally ranges from 0.34 to 1.05, and the operating temperature is below 250°C, so this cable has a long lifespan.
Halogen-free and non-toxic: Since the cable is made entirely of inorganic materials (metal copper and magnesium oxide powder), it will not produce smoke, halogens, or toxic gases even when burned at high temperatures of 1000°C, making it a truly halogen-free and non-toxic cable.
5. Overload Resistant, Copper Sheath Can Be Used as Ground Wire
Overload resistance: Since the melting point of copper is 1083°C and that of magnesium oxide is 2800°C, compared to ordinary plastic cables, the current carrying capacity of mineral insulated cables can be increased by one cross-section level, while also being able to withstand significant overloads, with overload capacity exceeding 10 times the normal current carrying capacity.
The copper sheath can be used as a ground wire: For mineral insulated cables, due to the continuity of the copper sheath and its extremely low grounding resistance, it can be used as a grounding conductor without the need for a separate grounding wire.
6. Product Applications: Due to the excellent performance of mineral insulated cables, they are suitable for rated voltages of 1000V and below in the following lines:General Lighting Emergency Lighting Lines · Emergency Broadcasting Lines Emergency Elevator and Lifting Equipment Lines Fire Alarm Control Lines Computer Room Control Lines Fire Protection Electrical Lines Generator Room Transmission Lines Power Supply Lines That Cannot Be Cut Off Dual Power Supply Control Lines Public Place Lighting Lines Main/Sub-distribution System Lines Scenic Spot Lighting Lines High Temperature Environment Power and Control Lines Oil Pump Lines Potential Hazardous Explosion Area Lines
